Since the Android 11 update, I take been unable to access the Android/data folder through Samsung's "My Files" app. This appears due to the storage updates in Android 11 where the "organization further restricts your app'south admission to other apps' individual directories" (Android 11 Storage updates). So far the only app I constitute that can admission these directors is the Files app by Marc apps & software, however information technology's but read permissions and I cannot write to the directory. The concluding alternative is to connect to a computer and gain total read/write access through USB.Has anybody plant a way to bypass these storage restrictions without root?

How are yous getting it to wok ? I recall the app is still telling me android/data is write protected :/
Firstly, I take a
branded ... SM-N986B/DS...
No root, stock etc.
.. then i open up the ..
Total Commander app....
then go
Device /Internal shared storage /Android / data......
If you yet have issues accessing data binder, then it could be "something else" on your device..?.... blocking you from accessing... Android /data folder..?
Run into attached screenshots (numbered 1,ii,3,4,five)
Good luck.

Yes beau! Somehow I bypassed this restriction.Download File Manager Plus from this link- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager and give information technology admission to your phone. It volition work...Since the Android 11 update, I take been unable to access the Android/data folder through Samsung's "My Files" app. This appears due to the storage updates in Android 11 where the "organisation further restricts your app'due south admission to other apps' private directories" (Android xi Storage updates). And then far the only app I institute that tin access these directors is the Files app past Marc apps & software, however information technology's only read permissions and I cannot write to the directory. The terminal alternative is to connect to a computer and gain full read/write access through USB.Has anybody found a way to bypass these storage restrictions without root?

If you install an app like termux and use it with temporary super user rights yous'll notice that folders inside your storage's "Android" folder belong to "root" and a group chosen "sdcard_rw", at to the lowest degree in my case. Unremarkably, you tin take a peek at what's inside the folders but you can't write into them, not unless you lot have root privileges. Since I needed to copy some files to the "information" folder I simply used termux and sudo-ed the hell past those restrictions. You lot may be tempted to just add your normal user to the "sdcard_rw" group only I strongly advise against it. Incase yous accidentally install malware in your telephone it might steal data or wreck havoc using your newly acquired group privileges.

No restrictions there

At offset . Only data binder was restricted. And then on of the security patches update made obb folder restricted as wellInformation technology all comes downwards to which user/group owns which folder/files. I believe file copy and move restrictions are tighter in Android eleven, intentionally and so, especially where "sensitive" folders within the "Android" folder, such as "data" and "obb", are involved These locations are where most user-installed apps store data, anyway. If yous install an app similar termux and use it with temporary super user rights you'll detect that folders inside your storage'southward "Android" folder belong to "root" and a group called "sdcard_rw", at least in my case. Usually, you lot can take a peek at what's inside the folders but you tin can't write into them, not unless you take root privileges. Since I needed to copy some files to the "data" folder I just used termux and sudo-ed the hell past those restrictions. You saved me so much trouble right at present I cannot thank you plenty.
Long story short, I had made a TWRP fill-in before updating my Android xi ROM (droidontime from 5.1.three to five.2) but it failed to restore and did something similar to this (which meant I lost access to my 2fa app - authy, and would have to reset all the 2fa tokens if I wanted to recover access to the account). I did not want to have to reset all my 2fa tokens and prepare them upwardly once again so I was determined to notice some other mode to restore access.
Since apps like titanium backup and swift fill-in were able to backup/restore authy'south data for me in the by I figured there must exist a binder where it stores the files for the accounts and such.
I had to manually excerpt the files from the corrupted? TWRP backup using the "less hacky solution" from this post. I constitute the files for "data/data" and "data/user_de" and such, only copying them there with Solid Explorer using root seemed to accept no effect when launching authy (plus some of the copy operations seemed to fail likewise). So I tried Total Commander with root instead later seeing your postal service here, and copied all the files at that place but I as well copied them to "/data_mirror/data_de/nix/0/com.authy.authy". I finally tried launching the app again and I was shocked to come across I HAD ACCESS Again!!!!! Thank you and so much.
I am not certain this method volition work for all apps, merely this just saved me and then much trouble and hassle and I cannot thank you enough.
